movie night: "Up in the Air"

i'm finally going to see "up in the air" tonight-- so excited. george clooney isn't my favorite male actor, but after charming me in spite of his seriously unlikable character in "burn after reading",  he has earned a little spot in my heart. 

in honor of g.cloon's (relatively) new movie, today's post is all about airplanes and other things that fly.

i don’t know about you, but it’s been ages since i’ve flown a kite. i distinctly remember some kite-flying in early childhood, but at some point between then and now, kites and i parted ways.

to remedy this, i’ve found some great kite-building & flying instructions at homemade simple.

i may try to use some light-weight fabric instead of paper for the kite "sail", but even just painting/stamping/coloring the base paper would be fun.

i like paper airplanes but i love anthropologie.

ever since they put a store in the mall down the road, i’ve been mesmerized by its interior design and unique art installations, like these paper airplanes made out of maps.
