i saw tim burton's "alice in wonderland" today with rachel and andrew-- i enjoyed it, just not as much as i thought i would.
i liked the "look" of the film, but i felt like the story was a bit rushed even with a run time of nearly 2 hours.
if you haven't seen it, the costumes and extreme makeup effects are worth checking out, as well as johnny depp and helene bonham carter's performances as the mad hatter and queen of hearts, respectively.

i really wanted to like carey mulligan's prada dress, but i just didn't.
the bottom half looked to heavy, mostly because of the shoes.
however! the bodice was so sweet-- beaded and covered in tiny scissors, forks, and other little trinkets.
i tried to find a better shot of the bodice without much luck-- maybe you'll fare better.

speaking of carey mulligan: i love her.
maybe it's just my new-found obsession with short hair, but i much prefer this shorter style to the longer hair she sported in "an education."
she's so cute, i almost forgive her for dating shia labeouf.
almost.
